SPACEL

How SPACEL P2P works

A non-custodial peer-to-peer exchange. A smart contract on Arbitrum holds the crypto in escrow while you and your counterparty settle fiat directly. Nobody — not even us — can touch the funds mid-trade.

Non-custodial escrowOn-chain on ArbitrumFiat settled off-chain

The core idea

The seller's crypto is locked in escrow on-chain. The buyer pays fiat or crypto off-chain. The seller confirms the money arrived, then the escrow releases the crypto to the buyer.

Before you start

First-time setup

  1. 1

    Connect your wallet

Click Connect Wallet (MetaMask or any injected wallet). You'll be on Arbitrum One.
  2. 2

    Sign in (free, no gas)

You sign a plain message to prove you own the wallet. This is not a transaction — no gas, no cost.
  3. 3

    Set up your profile

Visit your profile to choose a username. Your trade reputation lives on your wallet address.
  4. 4

(Sellers accepting bank transfer) Add a bank account

Go to Bank accounts, add your details and proof. An admin reviews and approves it before you can list it in an ad. Accepting crypto payment instead? No approval needed — your signed-in wallet is the receiving address.

Pick your role

The two ways to trade

Every trade has two sides. Either you post the ad (advertiser) and wait for someone to take it, or you respond to an existing ad (customer) on the market. Choose the tab that fits you.

You create the listing. Pick the side that matches what you already hold.

Post a Sell ad

You have crypto, you want fiat

  1. 1

    Post the ad

Open Post a sell ad. Choose the token & amount, your fiat currency and price per token (any currency — LKR, USD, INR, …), the min/max trade size, the payment & release windows, and which payment methods you accept (a bank account an admin has approved, or crypto straight to your wallet — no approval needed).
  2. 2

Approve + escrow (two wallet pop-ups)

The first tx approves the escrow to pull your tokens; the second creates the ad and locks them on-chain. Your crypto is now in escrow.
  3. 3

    A customer opens a trade

Someone takes part or all of your ad — that slice locks for them. Track it under My orders As seller. (You can't buy your own ad, and once it's emptied it drops off the market automatically.)
  4. 4

Customer pays you off-chain → you verify → Release

⚠ The contract can't see fiat. When they mark the trade paid, check your bank/wallet yourself. Only once the money is really there, click Release — the escrow sends the tokens to the buyer (minus a small 1% dev fee).
  5. 5

    Recover anything left over

Sold less than the full amount? Open the ad and hit Deactivate — the unsold balance is returned to your wallet in one transaction. (Blocked only while a trade is mid-flight.)
Post a Buy ad

You want crypto, you'll pay fiat or crypto

  1. 1

    Post the request

Open Post a buy ad. This is an off-chain request — no gas, no escrow. Say which token and how much you want, the price & currency, and how you'll pay. It appears to sellers on the market's Sell tab.
  2. 2

    A seller fills it

A seller (the customer here) hits Sell on your ad and escrows their crypto into a directed ad only you can take. You're notified when it's funded.
  3. 3

    Open the trade & pay

Open the trade against that ad, send the agreed money off-chain within the window, then click Mark as paid.
  4. 4

    Seller releases → you Claim

The seller verifies and releases. Click Claim on My orders to pull the tokens into your wallet.

  • Any currency

Ads price in any fiat — LKR, USD, INR and more. Nothing is hard-wired to one currency.

  • Pay in ETH & tokens

Sellers can accept native ETH and ERC-20s straight to their wallet, each with a live conversion rate as you type.

  • MAX button

One tap fills the largest amount you can buy or sell against an ad — no manual maths.

  • Buy ads (directed)

Post a buy ad and a seller fills it into an escrowed ad only you can take. (Formerly "buy intents".)

  • Cleaner market

Sold-out and too-small-to-buy ads are hidden automatically, so every listing you see is actually tradeable.

  • No self-trading

You can't buy or sell against your own ad — the buttons are blocked to prevent stuck escrows.

  • Recover leftovers

Deactivate a sell ad anytime to return the unsold balance to your wallet in one transaction.

  • Dark & light themes

Switch appearance from the header — your choice is remembered on the device.

See it with numbers

A full trade, end to end

Amounts below are shown as plain numbers — every ad sets its own fiat currency (LKR, USD, INR, …); the platform isn't tied to any one.

Asha wants to sell 1,000 SPACEL at 5 per token in her chosen currency. She posts an ad (min 500, max 50,000) and escrows 1,000 SPACEL on-chain.

Bandara wants 10,000 worth. He opens a trade for 10,000 → 2,000 SPACEL of Asha's escrow is locked for him.

Bandara transfers 10,000 in the ad's currency to Asha's approved account, then clicks Mark as paid.

Asha sees the payment in her account, clicks Release. The escrow sends ~2,000 SPACEL (minus the dev fee) to Bandara's claimable balance. He clicks Claim and the SPACEL lands in his wallet. Asha's remaining 998,000-ish SPACEL stays escrowed for the next buyer.

What protects you

Safety mechanisms

MechanismWhat it protects
On-chain escrowSeller's crypto can't be spent until they release — a paid buyer can't be rugged
Payment windowIf the buyer doesn't pay in time, the trade can be cancelled and escrow returned to the seller
Bank attestationSellers can only list bank accounts an admin verified — cuts down fake payment details
Disputes + arbitratorsIf one side cheats, either party opens a dispute; independent arbitrators review evidence and resolve it
Fee-free cancelsThe dev fee only applies to completed trades — never to cancellations or returns

Don't skip this

The golden rules

Sellers

Never click Release until you've personally confirmed the fiat is in your account. Once released, the crypto is gone — irreversibly.

Buyers

Never click Mark as paid until you've actually sent the money. Falsely marking paid leads to a dispute you will lose.
